What Goes On During Gala Week?
Each year, the committee work hard to ensure there is something on everyday for all ages during Gala Week.
2023 saw over 40 events take place, with an overwhelming turnout.
Make sure to save the date for Morvern Games and Gala Week - 13-20 July 2024.
Duck Race
Organised by the Lochaline Primary School Parent Council, this event sees hundreds of rubber ducks emptied into River Aline battling it out for top prize!
Ducks are on sale at the Morvern Games.
Clay Pigeon Shoot
Held annually at Acharn, a great chance to have a go at Clay pigeon shooting.
All welcome.
Open Water Swim
This event was introduced into the Gala Week programme a few years ago.
Sadly the organisers can no longer host this event, however due to popular demand we are are keen to have someone take this event back on and be part of Gala week again in 2024.

Drimnin Cinema
Make your way to Drimnin Hall for a pop up cinema west coast style during Gala week! Details of films in our programme, in the lead up to the week.
Flower Festival
Keil Church Flower Festival, held Tuesday-Saturday of Gala Week. Beautiful arrangements in a beautiful setting.

Indoor Bowls
This annual event sees couples battle it out to be crowned champions. Licensed bar.
Children's bowls will be back 2024.
Rainforest Walk
The Rainforest Walk at Rhemore
Learn about Morvern’s rainforests and other flora and fauna (including orchids and birds) on a walk around the Hazel and Oakwoods of Rhemore croft with Alasdair and Sam Firth.

Dabbers at the ready for Gala Week bingo held at Lochaline Village Hall.

Treasure Hunt
Local High Life Ranger, Eilidh-Ann Phillips holds a treasure hunt in Achnaha woods, fun for all the family.
Nc'Nean Distillery Tour
Head on down to Drimnin for a tour around the independent, organic whisky distillery here in Morvern.
Dog Agility
The dog agility event is growing in popularity every year. Head to Knock Park with your furry friend during Gala Week and join in the fun!
Allotments Open Day
C.L.A.M hold their annual open day and it's a great chance to have a look at the community allotments. Homemade pizza and cakes on offer too!

Morvern Watersport's Day
Morvern Watersports Club hold an open day on the second Saturday of the week. Fun for all the family, with a chance to try out the skiff, paddleboards, kayaks and more!
Lochaline Sand Mine Tour
Each Gala Week offers a unique oppurtuinity to visit europes only underground silica sand mine. Booking in advance essential (limited numbers)
Lochaline MS Fundraiser
These 3 have raised thousands of pounds over the last few years with stall sales, bingo, dances and auctions all held during Gala Week. With all proceeds raised going to the MS Revive Centre which provides essential treatment, services and support to multiple sclerosis patients throughout Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
Highland Hustle
Fun fitness class with Kirsty based on Scottish Highland Dancing. No dancing experience necessary.
Big Morvern Run
Organised by local couple Veronique and Alastair. A scenic run taking competitors through the beautiful Morvern countryside with quirky handmade numbers made by Veronique herself for the runners!
Morvern Heritage Walk
Join Morning Heritage Society for a guided walk around Morvern and find out more about our wonderful area.
Gala Week Pool Competition
Head on down to Lochaline Social Club for the annual pool competition. Cash prizes!
